The IT Department plans and implements SROA's technology and provides expertise to the board, committees and staff. 

IT oversees the following:

• All hardware/software management for desktops and laptops, servers, network switches, firewalls, security and gate systems, audio/visual components, point-of-sale, etc.
• Data management: Creates tools for collecting, analysis and reports.
• Manages miscellaneous technology-related systems such as email, internal databases, landlines and cell phones.
• Provides training to SROA staff on security, hardware & software.

IT Strategic Plan Task Force

In 2023, the task force completed an IT Strategic Plan to the SROA Board of Directors. The task force identified three primary priorities to implement and/or improve upon over the next three to five years:

1. Security & continuity to deliver reliable, continuous and secure IT services.
2. Networks to provide ubiquitous, reliable, fast and secure IT operations.
   • Proprietary network is industry standard
   • SROA network is partial and/or incomplete 
3. Cross-departmental GIS requirements for public safety, better operations and increased owner value (Public Works, Natural Resources, Community Development, Recreation).
